About Prog Enterprise
An Auckland advisory practice built for established New Zealand companies that need clear growth counsel, not borrowed corporate jargon.
Why we exist
Prog Enterprise grew out of a simple observation: many New Zealand firms that have already survived their first decade struggle not for lack of effort, but for lack of a shared growth story. Owners carry competing priorities; managers inherit plans that never get funded; boards hear optimism without seeing capacity.
We formed the practice to sit beside those firms — as advisors who understand local market scale, family and founder ownership patterns, and the practical limits of capital and management time.
How we work
We favour long conversations over long decks. Engagements begin with numbers and people, not slogans. We write recommendations in plain English and expect clients to argue with us. When we are wrong, we say so early.
Our work stays within advisory. We do not take equity for counsel, and we do not sell software, training libraries, or outsourced management teams under another name.
People
Marcus Hale
Principal
Former general manager in industrial services and later an independent advisor to owner-led firms. Marcus leads most retained growth engagements and board briefings.
Priya Nair
Principal
Background in commercial finance and regional expansion for mid-sized distributors. Priya designs diagnostics and market-entry reviews with a sharp eye on cash cycles.
Tom Reid
Associate advisor
Supports interview programmes, financial unpacking, and session preparation. Clients meet Tom early in discovery and often keep him as the day-to-day contact.
Place
We are based at Level 8, 125 Queen Street, Auckland 1010, and travel throughout New Zealand when the engagement requires it. Much of our counsel happens in client boardrooms, not only in ours.
Values that show up in the work
- Candour over comfort — we will recommend pause when growth would break the firm.
- Local realism — NZ markets are finite; advice must respect that scale.
- Client ownership — decisions remain yours; we advise and challenge.
- Clean endings — every engagement closes with a written hand-off, not an open invoice habit.
